Walk through the fortified town of Stevensweert.
The original village of Stevensweert was converted into a fortified town by the Spaniards during the Eighty Years' War in 1633. An earthen rampart with seven bastions and five ravelins was constructed. Part of Stevensweert has a protected townscape. The fortifications can still be recognized in the unique street pattern of the town.
The leaflet gives the brief history of Stevensweert and includes a clear map. The approx. 2 km route takes you past 16 monuments and high lights.
